Official: Russian cbank may cut minimal reserve rule for bks
MOSCOW, Feb 20 (PRIME) -- The Russian central bank does not rule out cutting the minimal reserve requirement for banks if necessary, First Deputy Chairwoman Ksenia Yudayeva said at a roundtable talk in the Federation Council, parliament’s upper chamber, on Friday.
“If there is a payment crisis, we may use such a measure as minimal reserve requirement reduction,” Yudayeva said.
“As a rule of thumb, this step nips problems of collateral deficit in the bud,” she said.
